2024 Jeep Gladiator Overview

The Jeep Gladiator has rocked the pickup truck world since its introduction in 2019. It blends the legendary off-road capability and fun-to-drive characteristics of a Jeep Wrangler with the utility and performance of a midsize truck. For 2024, the Gladiator has been updated with new features and styling tweaks. Here at Huffines Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram (CJDR) in Plano, Texas, we offer a close look at the new Jeep Gladiator.

What’s New in 2024

For the 2024 model year, the Gladiator’s iconic seven-slot grille has been restyled with a more rounded look without compromising this Jeep truck’s identity. A new stealth antenna is discretely integrated into the windshield, which now comes standard with Corning Gorilla Glass on all but the Sport trim. Most Gladiator models offer a choice of new wheel options.

Inside, a stunning new 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen adorns the dash of every Gladiator trim. This massive screen replaces the 7.4-inch and 8-inch displays in the previous Gladiator lineup. New for 2024 are the Mojave X and Rubicon X trims, which, for the first time in the Jeep truck, feature 12-way power-adjustable seats. The Gladiator also has standard side curtain airbags for front and rear passengers.

Trims and Dimensions

The Jeep Gladiator is offered in Sport, Sport S, Willys, Mojave, Rubicon, Mojave X, and Rubicon X trims with increasing levels of comfort and equipment. All models come with a roomy four-door crew cab and a 5-foot bed with a cargo volume of 35.5 cubic feet. The cabin gives you 103 cubic feet of passenger volume.

The Jeep truck’s power comes from a strong 3.6-liter V-6 engine that develops 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. It’s paired with a standard six-speed manual transmission or an available eight-speed automatic. The Gladiator gets up to 16 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway.

The Gladiator offers a best-in-class maximum payload of 1,725 pounds. Its base towing capacity is 4,000 pounds, but it can tow up to 7,700 pounds when properly equipped.  A Class II bumper hitch and seven- and four-pin wiring harness are standard on the Sport and Sport S trims, while other models get a standard Class IV receiver hitch, which is optional for the lower trims.

Features and Specs

With its removable doors and roof and fold-flat windshield, the Gladiator offers exhilarating, wind-in-the-hair, off-road enjoyment.

Off-Road Capability

Depending on the model, the Gladiator offers the Command-Trac or 4:1 Rock-Trac part-time four-wheel-drive systems or the Selec-Trac or 4:1 Rock-Trac full-time four-wheel-drive systems. Heavy-duty Dana front and rear axles and heavy-duty shock absorbers are standard on lower trims, while higher-spec models get high-performance FOX or Red Tenneco shocks.

The Gladiator Rubicon is designed to tackle the toughest terrain with its electronic locking differentials, sway bar disconnect, and rock rails. The Gladiator Mojave is the only Jeep to be awarded the Dessert Rated badge for its high-performance dessert capabilities. It flourishes in arid conditions and is designed to conquer the harshest dune territory.

Exterior Features

Standard exterior features for the Sport trim include a premium folding soft top, solar control glass, a body-color grille, fog lights, black fender flares, and 17-inch steel wheels. The Sport S adds automatic headlights, daytime running lights, a Corning Gorilla Glass windshield, deep-tinted windows, color-keyed fender flares, alloy wheels, and a power-locking tailgate. Step up to the Willys for unique badging, a black grille, LED running lights, cab rock rails, and heated power mirrors.

The Gladiator Mojave offers a performance hood with a unique Mojave decal, a body-color grille, LED headlights, fog lights, and taillights, and all-terrain tires. The Rubicon trim adds a steel rear bumper, cab and bed rock rails, and a dual-vented hood with a Rubicon decal. With the Mojave X and Rubicon X, you get a body-color three-piece hard top, a sliding rear window, and a winch-capable steel front bumper.

Interior Amenities

In the Gladiator Sport trim, you’ll find push-button start, durable cloth seating, a 60/40-split folding rear seat, air conditioning, and a 3.5-inch driver information center. With the Sport S, you get remote keyless entry, power windows, and power locking. The Willys adds a 7-inch reconfigurable digital instrument display and automatic temperature control.

The Mojave has a competition leather–wrapped steering wheel, ambient lighting, and a 115-volt power outlet, while the Rubicon offers a premium leather-bound steering wheel. Opting for the Mojave X gets you sport-bolstered leather seats, power-adjustable front seats, heated front seats, a leather-wrapped brake handle and shift knob, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The range-topping Rubicon X gives you nappa leather upholstery.

Technology

As standard in the 2024 Gladiator, the latest Uconnect 5 infotainment system features a large 12.3-inch touch screen, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, Alexa built-in, integrated voice command, and hands-free calling and media streaming. The eight-speaker sound system offers satellite radio.

Mojave X and Rubicon X trims feature a TomTom GPS navigation system and a premium Alpine audio system with nine speakers, a 552-watt amplifier, and HD Radio.

On the Willys trim and above, the trailer hitch zoom feature enables you to use 4x zoom mode on the rear backup camera for precise trailer hitching. Standard for the Mojave X and Rubicon X and available for other trims is a front-facing trail cam, which helps you navigate around obstacles when you head off-road.

Safety Tech

Standard safety features for the Gladiator include electronic stability control and roll mitigation, traction control, electronic trailer sway control, and hill-start assist. The Sport S adds adaptive cruise control and forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking. With the Mojave X and Rubicon X, you get blind-spot and cross-path detection and rear park assist.
