See the Plano Symphony Orchestra’s Home for the Holidays performance at the Christ United Methodist Church Plano with Héctor Guzmán as the conductor. Something is electrifying about watching live performances, and something even more magical about the show when it’s holiday-themed. The Plano Symphony Orchestra performs its Home for the Holidays show with seasonal favorites. Fela, Guzmán’s niece, and the Plano Civic Chorus will be joining the orchestra during the show. Fela is a talented singer and actress who led Big Band Jazz de México and starred as Nala in the Mexican production of Disney’s The Lion King.

Aside from enjoying the music, there are sing-a-longs, humor, and surprises to keep you engaged during the performance. For tickets, you can purchase your seats now if you’re a seasonal subscription member of the orchestra. If you’re not, keep an eye on the site’s page because single tickets go on sale soon.

Date and time: Sunday, Dec. 18, at 4 and 7:30 p.m.

Downtown Stocking Stroll

This is the fourth annual Downtown Stocking Stroll, and it’s a free event that lasts about three hours. The event is open to adults, kids, and pets. Walk around downtown and visit the merchants for fun holiday goodies and yummy treats. There will also be a boho merchant set up for the event. Here, you can shop from local shops while enjoying the cooler weather, grab some hot chocolate from the hot cocoa station, and catch a free train ride at the park.

Bring your own stocking so the merchants can fill it with stuffers. If you don’t have a stocking, that’s okay because you can get a free one at the Main Street Garden while supplies last. It’s first come, first served, so if you miss out, try stopping by one of the shops to purchase one. You can also grab a map from the garden of all the downtown shops participating in the event.

Date and time: Saturday, Dec. 17, from noon to 3 p.m.

Location: Main Street Garden Park, 1902 Main St., Dallas.
