Why Ram Trucks Are the Best Choice for Heavy-Duty Work

Shopping for a pickup truck often requires a lot of research, especially considering how many options are available in each segment. However, when you need to tackle heavy-duty tasks, there is simply no match for the trucks in the Ram lineup. Each boasts impressive towing and hauling capacity, along with high-end features that make for a better driving experience.
Comparing the Lineup
Ram has three main trucks designed for everyday work tasks, along with three commercial-grade vehicles, including two commercial vans. The Ram 1500 is a light-duty pickup, boasting powerful engine options and impressive capacities. The next option is the Ram 2500, which is slightly more powerful than the 1500. If you have heavy-duty work to get done, you’ll need a heavy-duty truck. The Ram 3500 is the perfect option for those in this segment.

Powerful Engines
When you need to get things done, you need an engine that can keep up. On the Ram 1500 truck, the standard engine is a 3.6-liter V-6 that makes 269 pound-feet of torque and 305 horsepower. Options include a 5.7-liter V-8, which produces 410 pound-feet and 395 horsepower, and a 3.0-liter diesel-powered V-6, making 420 pound-feet and 240 horsepower.
Both the 2500 and 3500 trucks offer more powerful options, such as the standard 5.7-liter V-8 that makes 400 pound-feet of torque and 383 horsepower. Two optional engines are available as well: the 6.4-liter V-8 produces 429 pound-feet and 410 horsepower, and a 6.7-liter turbocharged diesel, which puts out 350 horsepower and 660 pound-feet.
Extensive Trim Levels and Options
Buyers in the truck segment also like the options available in the Ram lineup. The 1500 truck is available in 11 unique trim levels, with features like LED lighting, oversized wheels, chrome exterior accents, and side-step bars. If you plan to take your truck off-roading, you can easily pick out a trim level with features designed for rough terrains, such as skid plates, tow hooks, all-terrain tires, and higher ground clearance.
The 2500 and 3500 trucks come in six different trim levels, each boasting plenty of options. At the bottom of the list, you’ll find basic interior finishes like vinyl upholstery and flooring, a split-front bench seat, and a six-speaker sound system. If you prefer a more luxurious truck, check out the higher trim levels with leather upholstery, heated seats, and other appealing options.
Cab Styles and Bed Lengths
With a Ram truck, you’re not limited to a single body style or bed length. Instead, you have options to customize the truck to your unique needs. With the 1500, choose from the regular cab, which has two doors and seating for three, the quad cab, which has four doors and seating for six, or the crew cab, which has four larger doors and more rear-seat legroom. You can also choose between a 5-foot-7-inch, 6-foot, and 8-foot bed. On the 2500 and 3500 trucks, the same cab options are available, but the shorter bed isn’t an option.
Experience the difference for yourself by test driving a brand new truck from the Ram lineup. You’ll love the standard and available features, along with the powertrain options designed to accomplish tough tasks.
