a toasted sandwich on a wooden tray with a metal basket of fries on the sideFor some people, sandwiches are a way of life. You can customize them how you want and add a variety of toppings without adding a ton of unnecessary calories. They also taste way better when someone else makes them for you. If you’re looking for somewhere else to shop for your next sandwich, then we have some great places. Here is your lunch sorted: Plano’s four best sandwich shops.

  1. Potbelly Sandwich Shop

We don’t think enough people understand how much a good sandwich can improve your whole day. At Potbelly Sandwich Shop you can find some of the best in town. They have delicious options such as the BLTA which is applewood smoked bacon, avocado, lettuce, and tomato. You can also try out their grilled chicken sandwich with hand-sliced chicken breast with cheddar cheese toasted on multigrain bread. Find this retro sandwich shop at 5717 Legacy Dr., Suite 160 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

  1. East Hampton Sandwich Co.

You can live your best life with a full stomach when you grab your lunch at East Hampton Sandwich Company. They have a unique menu where you choose your base from options such as lobster, pork, grilled chicken, turkey, veggie, beef, and chicken salad. Then, pick what you want it on, either sandwich bread or a wrap. Some favorites of ours from here include the Meyer Lemon with Meyer lemon rotisserie chicken salad, fresh basil, onion, greens, aioli, and tomato, or the Lobster Grilled Cheese with a quarter pound of lobster knuckle and claws, sriracha dijonnaise sauce, and shaved Havarti and American cheese. East Hampton Sandwich Company is located at 7300 Lone Star Dr. C128.

  1. Sourdough Bread Deli

The more you can add to a sandwich the better it tastes, and Sourdough Bread Deli proves this. They bake their bread fresh daily using unbleached, unbromated flour and it is delicious. Some of their more popular sandwich options include their Reuben Sandwich with parmesan, corn beef, cheddar, mozzarella, sauerkraut, and thousand island dressing. Also, try the Avocado Chicken or the Chicken Club. This quaint sandwich shop can be found at 4120 W. 15th St.

  1. Schlotzsky’s

Any day is a good day for a sandwich at Schlotzsky’s. The Original is their most popular sandwich and has smoked ham, Genoa and Cotto salami, mozzarella, cheddar, and parmesan cheese with red onion, black olive, tomato, lettuce, mustard, and their famous signature sauce on a toasted sourdough bun. In addition to that famous sandwich, they also have delicious options such as the Fiesta Chicken with roasted chicken, cheddar cheese, red peppers, chipotle mayonnaise, and veggies or Turkey and Guacamole with turkey, guacamole, lettuce, tomato, and onion. Schlotzsky’s is located at 5045 Central Expressway and is open from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
Try one of these great places the next time you are out for lunch. They have fun atmospheres, delicious food, and are great to hit with a friend or even by yourself on your break from work. Enjoy your sandwich!
