Keep reading to learn more about the 2020 Dodge Charger’s power and performance capabilities.

Engine Options

This sports car comes in five trim levels: SXT, GT, R/T, R/T Scat Pack, and SRT Hellcat. The SXT and GT come with a 3.6-liter V-6 engine, but SXT generates 292 horsepower and the GT generates 300 horsepower. If you’re looking for a vehicle with even more power, the R/T features a 5.7-liter V-8 engine with 370 horsepower, and the Hellcat has the same engine with 375 horsepower. The Scat Pack edition features a 6.4-liter V-8 engine with 485 horsepower, which gives you plenty of power off the line.
The Charger also comes with various suspensions including a performance suspension, a high-performance suspension, and a widebody competition suspension. The widebody suspension comes with the SRT, Scat Pack, and Hellcat trims.

In addition, both the SXT and GT come with the option for rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, whereas the R/T and Scat Pack come with all-wheel drive. The Hellcat is only available in rear-wheel drive. The Scat Pack gives the sedan better acceleration and traction on the road. This is ideal for harsh weather conditions when you need more control over your vehicle. According to Dodge, the Charger is the nation’s only four-door muscle vehicle that comes with all-wheel drive. This feature alone helps put the Charger in a league of its own.

Transmission Options

Each Dodge Charger comes with Dodge’s class-exclusive TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission. This transmission increases efficiency, lowers fuel consumption, and provides you with powerful control on the road. You can also add the Sport Mode and the available steering wheel-mounted paddle shifting. These shifts let you change gears while keeping your hands on the wheel. You can also opt for the electronic t-shifter for added ease and control on the road.

Overall performance

Despite being a full-size sedan, the 2020 Dodge Charger doesn’t hold back in terms of performance. It also offers a quiet and balanced ride for both you and your passengers. Though it can tackle most road surfaces smoothly, certain terrain may disrupt the driving experience. While driving, you can choose between three steering modes: Normal, Comfort, and Sport. Choose the mode that works best for your driving style and road conditions.
The Charger also comes with electric power steering and available upgraded brakes and performance tires. In addition, it comes standard with traction control, stability control, and brake assist for a safer and better driving experience. The 2020 Dodge Charger can also tow up to 1,000 pounds.
