There are many wonderful spots in Plano, Texas, to enjoy breakfast or brunch. Whether you’re looking for a casual Sunday morning breakfast, a place to meet clients for brunch, or mimosas with friends, these restaurants have what you’re looking for. The next time you’re craving a breakfast burrito, crab cake eggs Benedict, or freshly squeezed orange juice, head to one of these local restaurants with your friends and family.

The Biscuit Bar

First envisioned by local owners Jake and Janie Burnett in 2016, the Biscuit Bar has been serving casual Southern fare with a unique theme of custom-made biscuit sandwiches since 2018. The first and only restaurant of its kind in North Dallas, you’ll love the wide variety of made-from-scratch biscuits and the fun brunch drink menu.

The Biscuit Bar offers a wide variety of budget-friendly options. For breakfast try the Biscuit French Toast, a biscuit that is dipped in vanilla custard, pan-fried, and covered with freshly made whipped cream. For a savory choice, try the El Jefe biscuit with pulled pork, sliced ham, Monterrey Jack cheese, pickles, and Dijon aioli. Famous for their tater and sweet potato tots, they switch things up with variations of this side, such as their Taco Style, Breakfast Style, or Holiday Style tots.

The Biscuit Bar is located on the Boardwalk at Granite Park at 5880 TX-121 Suite 102B in Plano. It’s open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Lily’s Cafe

Family-owned Lily’s Cafe serves delicious Tex-Mex and Guatemalan dishes, and you’ll discover traditional Guatemalan breakfasts, Tex-Mex lunches, and American brunch plates here. The staff is friendly, the service is speedy, and breakfast is served all day long, which makes this a great place to go any time of the day.

You’re sure to find something on the extensive menu that will satisfy your cravings! There are 14 different types of omelets served with hash browns as well as traditional Guatemalan dishes that include ingredients like grilled pork sausage, black beans, fried plantains, and homemade corn tortillas. Of course, you can also find multiple sweet choices like French toast and waffles. Various appetizers, lunch specials, Tex-Mex specials, combos, and house specials are on the menu.

Lily’s Cafe is located at 3100 Independence Parkway, Suite 299 in Plano. The cafe is open from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday through Saturday and from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Committed to giving their customers fantastic home-style cooking, this cafe is always a great choice for breakfast. The menu focuses on healthy creations that are not only delicious, but freshly prepared for each order. From slow-cooked meats to specialty coffees, anything you order will be a treat.

Customer favorites include the Biscuit and Gravy Omelet — a three-egg omelet stuffed with biscuit pieces and cheeses and topped with sausage gravy — homemade crepes with fresh berries, crab cake eggs benedict, salmon avocado toast, and Cajun chicken and waffles. And don’t forget to get freshly squeezed orange juice with your meal!

The Eggsquisite Cafe is located at 2058 University Drive, Suite 800 in nearby McKinney and is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. seven days a week.

Whiskey Cake Kitchen

A farm-to-table restaurant where everything is made from scratch, the Whiskey Cake Kitchen believes local food tastes better. The menu includes local seasonal ingredients, and the kitchen slow-cooks many items on a live-wood grill. You’ll have several seating options, from dining at fancier tables to relaxing in rocking chairs on the porch, and no matter where you sit, the farm-fresh comfort food will please your taste buds.

Start your brunch with a freshly juiced drink like the Beet Le Juice, which has green apples, yuzu, red beets, and local honey. Or try the Little Pink Drink made from grapefruit, cranberry, pineapple, guava, and agave. The brunch menu includes a variety of specialty house cocktails if you want something a little stronger. Meet your friends for brunch and get the French Toast Monte Cristo for a mix of sweet and savory flavors, or try the unique Hangover Breakfast Burger.

The Whiskey Cake Kitchen and Bar is located at 3601 Dallas Parkway in Plano. It’s open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, from 11 a.m. to midnight on Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to midnight on Saturday, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday.
