These Features are Why You Need the Chrysler 200

The Chrysler 200 is a four-door mid-size car known for its spacious interior and trunk as well as its range of available safety features. The 2017 model year is the last that the manufacturer will produce, punctuating a seven-year run of these vehicles. Here are some of the top features of the 2017 Chrysler 200.

Engine Options

The 2017 200s come standard with a 2.4-liter, 16-valve engine that gets an EPA-estimated 23 miles per gallon in the city and 36 miles per gallon on the highway. This can be upgraded on all trims (except the LX) to a 3.6-liter, 24-valve engine. Though this option is less fuel efficient (19 miles per gallon in the city and 32 on the highway), it delivers a much more powerful ride.
The LX, Limited, 200S, and 200C configurations come with a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Interior Comforts and Impressive Technologies

The Chrysler 200 offers plenty of interior space, and the trunk is very roomy. This vehicle can seat five passengers and has a total passenger interior volume of 101.4 cubic feet. It has 16 cubic feet of cargo capacity in the trunk, but available pass-through second-row seats will give you much more room to store cargo.
Heated seats are available, and drivers can also add footwell lighting to brighten up the interior. Dual-zone temperature control is available if you’d like the driver and the passenger to be able to create their own climates.
In addition to these comfort features, the 200 has an array of available tech upgrades. For example, drivers can add satellite radio and Uconnect 8.4 navigation radio to ensure they have the real-time weather and traffic info that they need to stay safe on the road. An available 8.4-inch touch screen with a navigation display also makes traveling easier. This can be upgraded further to include advanced navigation with 3D city modeling.
The 200 also comes with 12-volt power outlets, so you can charge your devices on the road.

Available Safety Features

In terms of safety features, the 200 starts with a few basics, such as eight air bags, a security alarm, and remote keyless entry. If you have room in your budget, you can start upgrading to add some of the many available safety systems. These include:

  • Rear Cross-Path Detection System
  • Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking
  • Advanced Brake Assist
  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go
  • LaneSense Lane Departure Warning
  • Lane Keep Assist
  • Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist
  • Automatic high-beam headlamps

Though the minimum safety features are a bit bare, there are many options you can add to give you peace of mind on the road. In addition to the systems mentioned above, rain-sensing windshield wipers with de-icer are available to help you navigate any storms.
It’s sad to see this model come to an end after so many years, but there’s still plenty of time to get behind the wheel of a new 2017 Chrysler 200. Schedule a test drive at a local dealership, and ask about building one of these vehicles to your exact specifications.
