Celebrate the 4th of July at These Four Local Events

Large firework going off behind a stadium lightThe Fourth of July is a big celebration in the Dallas area. You can find exciting festivals and fireworks shows all over the city. These are a few of the best events in the area.

Plano’s All American Fourth of July Fireworks

The Plano fireworks are one of the biggest shows in the area and take place at the Oak Point Park and Nature Reserve. This free family-friendly event attracts thousands of local residents. The event starts at 5 p.m. on July 4, 2018.
There will be a collection of local food trucks, as well as a live DJ. The fireworks show starts at 9:30 p.m. and is synchronized to the music on 97.5 KLAK. Bring your lawn chairs or picnic blankets and get there early for front row seating to one of the best fireworks shows in the state.

Fair Park Fourth

Fair Park Fourth takes place at the Texas State Park. The event is sponsored by the Friends of Fair Park, the State Fair of Texas, WFAA-TV, and the City of Dallas, bringing you one of the biggest Fourth of July events. Tickets are just $5 when purchased online and $7 when purchased at the gate.
The event consists of 30 amusement park rides, 19 concession stands, 14 carnival games, and plenty of water attractions to cool off. The midway is open on July 4 from 12 p.m. until 10 p.m. The fireworks show begins at 9:45 p.m. sharp. There will also be live music from local musicians Razzmajazz and Vince Vance & the Valiants.

Lone Stars and Stripes Celebration

The Lone Stars and Stripes Celebration is scheduled for July 3 and July 4, 2018. Admission tickets are just $5 per person and include live horse racing, live music, family-friendly entertainment, and a fireworks show.
Active military and veterans receive free admission with ID. The live races start at 5 p.m. and run until sunset. The fireworks show takes place immediately following the last race of the evening and is tuned to local music.

Old Fashioned Fourth

The Old Fashioned Fourth event takes place on July 4, 2018, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. It is at the Dallas Heritage Village at Old City Park and is the perfect daytime activity for younger children. Guests show up in their favorite red, white, and blue attire and enjoy the blast from the past educational experience.
This event includes admission to the village, interactions with costumed characters, and a Fourth of July parade that starts at 12 p.m. Dress up the family at the on-site craft station and join in the parade. There are also special events available for the younger children including a stick and pony race and crafting contests. Tickets are just $5 per person and children 12 and younger are free.
Celebrate the Fourth of July in Dallas-style. Any of these events are sure to provide you and your family with an entertaining way to celebrate the independence of our nation.
