The All American 4th has long been a tradition in Plano, and the city always pulls out all the stops for this annual celebration. This family-friendly event takes place on the Fourth of July from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. As in years past, it’ll be free to the public and feature a festival, parade, and fireworks display.

The festival will be open for the entire event, so you can enjoy all the elements across the day. There will be a free kids’ zone courtesy of Champion Energy Services, as well as food and beverage stalls from local vendors. The parade, sponsored by the Rotary Parades of Plano, will start at 7:30 p.m., and the fireworks show starts at 9:30 p.m. Here’s more information to help you make the most of the event:

  • You can bring lawn chairs, blankets, and coolers for the day to keep the whole family comfortable.
  • Pets won’t be allowed at the event.
  • The parade will take place along Spring Creek Parkway, which is between the Red Tail Pavilion and Collin College.
  • For the best views during the parade and fireworks display, go to the hillside of Spring Creek Parkway.
  • You may park at Collin College Plano campus, which is located at 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway.

Independence Day Pool Party 2023

If you’re looking for something to do before heading to the All American 4th festivities, you can take part in the Independence Day Pool Party. This takes place from noon until 6 p.m. on July Fourth at the historic Texas Pool. This famous landmark, known for its massive Texas-shaped saltwater pool, has been part of the community for the last 62 years, so it’s only fitting that it’s part of your plans for the day. Here are important details about the event:

  • The Texas Pool is located at 901 Springbrook Drive in Plano.
  • The admission price is $10 per person.
  • You can get in for free if you’re a veteran or active military member — just present your ID.
  • You can also get in for free without waiting in line if you’re a Texas Pool member.
  • There will be food and traditional pool games at the event.

Patriotic Pops by the Plano Symphony Orchestra

The Plano Symphony Orchestra is a beloved musical institution, and it’s celebrating its 40th year of providing residents of North Texas with beautiful music through the group’s live performances. If you’re looking for a more relaxing way to spend the afternoon of the Fourth of July, the Patriotic Pops concert is an excellent fit. This takes place at 3 p.m. at the Eisemann Center in Richardson, so you can easily make your way back to Plano in your new Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, or Ram, just in time for the parade and fireworks display.

The Patriotic Pops concert will serve as a tribute to the armed forces and include traditional music, such as “America the Beautiful” and “The Star-Spangled Banner.” It’ll also feature artists, including vocalist Charles Billingsley and pianist Eduardo Rojas, and the work of up-and-coming composer Quinn Mason. Here are a few more details:

  • Ticket prices range from $23 to $83, depending on seat location. A 20% discount is available for active-duty military personnel and military veterans.
  • You can purchase tickets online through the Plano Symphony Orchestra’s website, other ticketing outlets, or in person at the Eisemann Center.
  • The event will be held at the Eisemann Theatre inside The Charles W. Eisemann Center for Performing Arts, located at 2351 Performance Drive in Richardson, Texas.

Red, White, and BOOM!

McKinney hosts a fantastic Fourth of July celebration every year. Red, White, and BOOM! is a two-day, family-friendly event that covers everything you could want, with live music, fireworks, a parade, and a party. This year, the festivities will start on July 3 at Gabe Nesbitt Community Park.

There will be activities for kids and families from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., with a live performance from The Rumble Kings from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and another concert from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The fireworks display begins at 9:45 p.m. If you’re interested in attending, here’s more information to help you plan your day:

  • All activities are open and free to the public.
  • Pets aren’t allowed at the event.
  • While you can bring a cooler with food and drinks, alcoholic beverages and grilling at the park are prohibited.
  • You can purchase food and drinks from vendors at the event.

The events for the second day of Red, White, and BOOM! will be held in downtown McKinney. The hometown parade will start at 10 a.m. This is followed by the Yankee Doodle Block Party at 11 a.m., which includes games and activities for the whole family. If you’re coming from Plano, getting to McKinney will typically take you less than half an hour, so you can definitely attend the events on both days and still make it back for the All American 4th.
