This cultural hub of Plano offers great experiences for any interest. Here are a few of our favorite things to do in historic Plano:

  1. Take an Art Class

If you love learning new crafts and trying your hand at art, take an art class in downtown Plano. This is a great idea for date night, groups of friends, and solo visitors alike.
Sign up for a pottery workshop at Holman Pottery to learn pottery throwing techniques. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pottery professional, these workshops are always a good time. Be advised that they only conduct classes for at least six people.
For a paint-and-sip experience, head to Pipe and Palette. You’ll be able to brush up on your painting skills while enjoying a glass of wine at this fun destination.

  1. Visit a Haunted House

Thanks to Dark Hour Haunted House, every day is Halloween in Plano. If you enjoy getting spooked, this year-round haunted house is a fun destination for you and your bravest friends. They change the theme of their rooms throughout the year to offer a new experience with every visit.

  1. Shop Until You Drop

Some of Plano’s most interesting shops are housed in its historic downtown area. For a boutique clothing and decor store, head to Lyla’s. Enjoy a fine cigar? Try Lone Star Cigars. Vintage furniture stores, bike shops, gift shops, and more line the streets of downtown Plano. Make sure you explore each to find your new favorite go-to shop.

  1. Upgrade Your Kitchen

One of our favorite things to do downtown is visiting Georgia’s Farmers Market. You never know what you’ll find at this 7-days-a-week market. Homemade fried pies, syrups, all sorts of fresh produce, various baked goods, and locally farmed meats are just a few of the finds to be had at this top-notch farmers market.

  1. Take a Food Tour

It would take quite a while to try all of the restaurants that call downtown Plano home. For your morning cup of coffee, head to Fourteen Eighteen Coffeehouse or XO Coffee Company. For lunch, we suggest checking out Zalat Pizza or La Paloma Taqueria. You’ll also find top-notch barbecue, authentic German food, sushi, and plenty of dessert destinations in the area. With plenty of local restaurants to choose from, the hard part about finding good food downtown is choosing where to go first.

  1. Watch a Play

If you enjoy performing arts, you’ll find plenty to see at the Courtyard Theatre and the Cox Playhouse. Plano’s artistic side is alive with plays and performances. From black-box productions to musicals, there’s a show downtown that should interest you.
Take time to explore everything downtown Plano has to offer. Whether you’re trying to find interesting boutique shops, have something interesting to eat for dinner, or you’re looking for a little fun, you’ll likely find something perfect for you in Plano.
