Bush Central Barkway

Take a short drive to Richardson to discover the Bush Central Barkway. The dog park takes its name from its location: You’ll find it on a 6-acre site under and along the President George Bush Turnpike west of U.S. 75.
The Bush Central Barkway offers separate areas for large and small dogs, plus a rental plot available upon reservation. The fee for the rental paddock is $20 per hour, with a $50 key deposit requested.
Is your pup not as perky anymore, settling into a slower pace, or recovering from surgery? A sedentary dog area within the park offers a spot where dogs can take it easy while still enjoying the fresh air through their fur.
A central plaza within the park offers access to restrooms and shade structures. Give your dog some off-leash time in the open space within the dog park setting. This space features various textures that include grass, decomposed granite, stones, and logs. Thanks to the Friends of the Dog Park organization, five Mutt Mitt dispensers exist throughout the park.

Dog Park at Bob Woodruff Park

Make it a day for fun and adventure with your pup pal when you visit the dog park at Bob Woodruff Park. The dog park consists of a double-gated, fenced, 7-acre plot within Bob Woodruff Park. Separate areas exist within the park for large and small dogs. A centrally located shade structure overlooks the fenced enclosures of the dog park.
If you’re walking your dog during the evening hours, you’ll appreciate the low-level safety lighting present at the dog park, plaza, and parking lot. The individual paddocks within the dog park alternate between being locked and unlocked, a feature that prevents the overuse of any one paddock at any time.

- Benches and picnic tables.
- Water stations for dogs and their owners.
- Waste disposal and pickup stations.
The dog park closes at 10:30 p.m. Before the safety lights in the park turn off, a warning strobe will activate. Be sure you have enough time to exit the park to prevent you and your pet from getting left in the dark.

NorthBark Dog Park

Located near the North Dallas Tollway and the President George Bush Turnpike, NorthBark Dog Park gives dogs everything they could want and more during their visit. The 22.3-acre off-leash dog park features trails, a swale, and an expansive lawn area.
A dog beach next to the dog lake will have your pup thinking it’s down by the sea. Walk along the 6-foot-wide loop trail, or cool off from some fun in the sun under the doggy shower surrounded by metal fencing that bears custom-cut dog silhouettes and flagstone structures.
According to the Dallas Park & Recreation website, this canine haven is the largest dog park of its kind in North Texas.

Plano Dog Park at Jack Carter Park

Your precious pooch won’t mind missing its nap when you pay a visit to the Plano Dog Park at Jack Carter Park. You’ll find this fenced 2-acre park along the Bluebonnet Trail near its intersection with the Chisholm Trail.
Dog owners and their canine companions will find many attractive features present in the park, including:

- Water stations for humans and dogs.
This park features a designated area for small dogs weighing less than 30 pounds and a separate area for dogs weighing more than 30 pounds. In addition to grassy areas where your dog can enjoy some off-leash time, the park has a paved walking track.
You’ll find parking for the dog park in the lot west of the area. Travel one-half block north on Pleasant Valley Drive from its intersection with Spring Creek Parkway, west of Custer Road.
