3 Parks for a Great Day with the Family in Plano

Best parks in Plano, TXWhen a beautiful day arrives, there is nothing better than packing up your picnic basket and spending the day at the park with family and friends. Plano, Texas is home to many such green spaces offering sports areas, playgrounds, picnic areas, and hiking and biking trails, with many being pet-friendly. Here are just a few favorites we at Huffines Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Plano think are worth checking out.

Preston Meadow Park 

Preston Meadow Park is a local neighborhood park that is a perfect stop for practicing sports and enjoying some hiking trails! This park also has pavilions, which can be reserved for $75 for a 6-hour slot, for you to use if the weather doesn’t play nice!
For the kiddos, there is a fully-accessible playground for all ages, including swings for babies to enjoy. Set up a volleyball net and score some points against your family anytime during their open hours of 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Hoblitzelle Park

Hoblitzelle Park has a beautiful green, wide open space for you to enjoy any activities such as playing Frisbee, doing yoga, and placing a blanket down for a nice picnic. The park includes soccer fields and three playgrounds so there will be plenty of room for the family to play together or separate! Make sure to bring the bikes and take advantage of the scenic paved trail along the creek. The hours for Hoblitzelle Park are Mon-Fri from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Carpenter Park Recreation Center

The Carpenter Park Recreation Center is an inside facility providing a variety of options for the whole family to enjoy including a cardio room, two gyms, indoor pool, squash courts, weight room, indoor track, racquetball courts, and much more.
For a minimal fee, reservations can be made via phone or in person to use any of the five courts for racquetball, squash, and wallyball up to two days in advance. Scheduled times for open play badminton, 55+ basketball, pickleball, table tennis, and volleyball with drop-in basketball available during any unscheduled times. Foosball, ping pong, board games, air hockey, and billiards equipment is also available to 20-minute checkout.
Camp Connections provides play and lasting memories for children ages 6-11 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. throughout the summer with engaging outdoor games; multimedia styled activities, and arts and crafts. Registration fees are $89 a week for residents and $93 a week for non-residents. Pre and Post-Connections are add-on options allowing children to be dropped off prior to Camp Connections starting at 7:30 a.m. for a fee of $15 a week for residents and $19 a week for non-residents and staying after Camp Connections until 5:30 p.m. for $35 a week for residents and $39 a week for non-residents.
