2023 Jeep EV Lineup

In the near future, Jeep plans to start releasing its first all-electric vehicles. If you’re interested in getting an electric vehicle (EV), you may want to know what Jeep has to offer now and in the future. Below, we’ll highlight what you can currently get from Jeep along with the vehicles that it plans to release in the coming years.

Currently, Jeep only offers a plug-in hybrid version of its Jeep Wrangler. The Jeep Wrangler 4xe is the closest you can get to a Jeep EV at the moment. With the 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe, you can get about 25 miles of electric-only driving or a few hours of driving at low-speeds off-road. With the plug-in hybrid version of the Wrangler, you can also expect to get 375 horsepower, which is actually one of the stronger options for the 2023 Wrangler.

Of course, if you opt to get the plug-in hybrid version, you’ll also get all the other benefits that come with owning a Wrangler. This includes the spacious cabin, which will provide a great view of the trails in front of you. You can also remove the top or doors to give yourself a better view of your surroundings or to get some fresh air into your Jeep.

Finally, you can opt for a Wrangler with just the essentials or outfit it with some of the latest tech, such as an infotainment system, a premium Alpine audio system, and both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

2024 Jeep Recon EV

The first of two EV Jeep models coming to North America is the 2024 Jeep Recon. The Jeep Recon EV will be a midsize SUV, making it similar in size to the current Jeep Wrangler. With the Jeep Recon EV, you can expect common Jeep features, such as the Selec-Terrain traction management system, protection for under the vehicle, tow hooks, off-road tires, and e-locker axle technology. And similar to other Jeep models, you’ll be able to remove the top and the doors to expose your new EV to the outside.

Many details about the 2024 Recon EV haven’t been released yet. For example, we don’t know the starting MSRP, although we expect it to be more expensive than Jeep’s gas-powered Wrangler. We also expect it to have similar trim options to that of the Wrangler, giving you more choice over how much you want to spend versus the features you get. The 2024 Jeep Recon EV should be very similar to the Jeep Wrangler 4xe, so if you like that vehicle, there’s a good chance the Recon will interest you as well.

2024 Jeep Wagoneer EV

The other EV from Jeep coming to North America soon is the Jeep Wagoneer EV. The Jeep Wagoneer is more of an SUV than your classic Jeep, but it’s still capable of handling all your adventures. For example, rather than being able to remove the roof and doors, you’ll get a sunroof instead. As with the Recon EV, many details about the Wagoneer EV aren’t available yet. However, we do expect it to produce around 600 horsepower and be able to travel 400 miles on a full battery.

The 2024 Jeep Wagoneer is something you might like if you want a vehicle that can go off-road but is also suitable for driving around town. This is going to be a high-performance SUV that runs entirely on electricity. If you’re looking for a Jeep that’s highly versatile, you should definitely explore the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer EV when it becomes available.

2024 Jeep Avenger

Jeep also plans to release the Jeep Avenger but only in European markets. It’ll be smaller than the current Jeep Renegade and will technically be Jeep’s first all-electric vehicle. The Jeep Avenger should get around 250 miles of range and deliver strong off-roading performance. If the Jeep Avenger performs well overseas, and if there’s demand for a smaller SUV in North America, this vehicle may eventually make its way over here.

Benefits of Owning an EV

Not sure if an EV is right for you? There are a few benefits that you should consider to help you decide. For starters, EVs remove the need to stop for gas. Even if you decide to get the plug-in hybrid version of the Jeep Wrangler, you won’t have to stop as often for gas. With the price of gas always fluctuating, limiting your need for it can save you a significant amount of money in the long run.

In addition, by buying an EV, you may be eligible for a tax rebate. There are federal and state programs available that offer tax rebates when you buy eligible EVs. You should explore the programs available to you or talk to the Finance Center at your local dealership to see if buying an EV is actually more affordable than you realized.

Finally, EVs often contain the latest innovations in performance, comfort, and entertainment. This means you’re not only getting a vehicle that no longer needs gas, but you’re also getting one of the most impressive vehicles on the road, period. Manufacturers are eager to sell their new EVs, and as a result, they load up their models with all the best features. That’ll likely be the case with the new Jeep models as well, making them worthwhile to explore when they debut.
