When you’re stuck in traffic or driving on an open road, you’ll appreciate the 2022 Jeep Wrangler’s award-winning Uconnect infotainment system. The system performs a wide range of functions to make driving easier and more enjoyable, such as giving you access to your favorite playlists, helping you make and receive phone calls, and providing directions to your destinations.

Uconnect comes with a sleek and modern-looking touch-screen display that delivers crystal-clear graphics and snappy responses. Centrally located on the dashboard, the screen is within easy reach of the driver and front passenger and comes with straightforward menus that make it highly user friendly.

The Jeep Wrangler offers three different versions of the Uconnect system: Uconnect 3, Uconnect 4, and Uconnect 4C NAV. The Uconnect 3 features a 5-inch touch-screen display, wireless connectivity for audio streaming, integrated voice command, and an available six-month SiriusXM trial subscription. For an even better experience, you can select a model with the Uconnect 4, which adds a 7-inch touch-screen display, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, and a six-month SiriusXM trial subscription.

The Uconnect 4C NAV kicks things up a notch with additional features, including an 8.4-inch touch screen, HD radio, and navigation. The advanced navigation system serves as your co-pilot, helping you stay informed during your adventures and gain complete control of your vehicle. In addition, you’ll receive a 12-month SiriusXM Guardian trial, a five-year SiriusXM Traffic Plus trial, and a five-year SiriusXM Travel Link trial.

The version of Uconnect and the exact list of infotainment features you get depends on which Wrangler trim you choose. The entry-level model comes standard with the Uconnect 3 system, two USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity, and an eight-speaker sound system. Higher trims are fitted with either the Uconnect 4 or 4C NAV, plus other available features, such as a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, extra USB ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot, a household-style power outlet, and a nine-speaker audio system. The Wi-Fi hot spot provides 4G LTE connectivity and supports up to eight devices within 50 feet.

Technology Features

Beyond offering excellent connectivity, information, and entertainment on the go, the Jeep Wrangler also comes with the available Uconnect Services app to allow you to manage your SUV from your smartphone. One of the most useful features in this app is remote start, which lets you start the SUV from up to 328 feet away. You can use this function during summer or winter to cool down or warm up your vehicle before setting off on your journey.

Further, the Uconnect Services app has a Send & Go feature that allows you to look up specific locations on your smartphone and transfer the information to your Uconnect system. This means you can start driving to your destination immediately after hopping into your Wrangler. The app also sends you a Vehicle Health Report monthly or on demand. The report provides useful insights into the health of your vehicle, so you can easily keep it in tiptop condition.

If you download the Jeep Skill app, you can use Amazon Alexa to connect to your Wrangler from the comfort of your home. Once set up, Alexa can send driving directions to your vehicle, start the engine, and even check the fuel level.

In addition to remote start, the Jeep Wrangler also comes with various standard and optional comfort and convenience features to deliver a more pleasant driving experience. These include automatic climate control, push-button start, remote keyless entry, and proximity keyless entry. All these features help make the current Wrangler the most technologically advanced model ever built.

Driver-Assistance Features

Another attractive element of the 2022 Jeep Wrangler is its long list of driver-assistance features. These technologies help lower your risk of accidents by making you more aware of your surroundings, detecting road hazards, and providing automatic emergency assistance.

The base Wrangler offers only a rearview camera as standard. However, you can move up the trim ladder or purchase options to gain access to many more active safety features to improve your safety on the road. These features include forward automatic emergency braking, forward-collision alert, a forward-facing camera, automatic high-beam headlamps, rear parking sensors, rear cross-traffic warning, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot detection. The forward-facing camera is particularly helpful during off-road adventures, as it detects and alerts you to upcoming obstacles on the infotainment screen so you can avoid them.
