Its trim levels — Sahara 4xe, Rubicon 4xe, and High Altitude 4xe — use an identical power source. This includes an eight-speed automatic transmission paired with a 2.0-liter turbo engine with a 17-kWh battery and two electric motors. These components generate up to 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. This power setup allows the hybrid Wrangler 4xe to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in six seconds and tow up to 3,500 pounds.
The E-Selec driving configurations — Electric, eSave, and Hybrid — allow you to reduce emissions, conserve battery, or balance power and fuel. The SUV can cover up to 21 miles with nearly zero tailpipe emissions when running solely on electric power. The eSave mode lets you travel farther and reserves battery power for subsequent driving. Hybrid mode (the default configuration) prioritizes neither; instead, it combines power and fuel efficiency.
Sahara 4xe
The Sahara 4xe is the base trim for the 4xe and has an MSRP of $54,595. It comes in a wide range of exterior colors, such as Sarge Green, Sting-Gray, Hydro Blue Pearl, Firecracker Red, Bright White, and Silver Zynith. It features 20-inch aluminum wheels with all-season tires, a body-colored grille with silver rings, and an integrated off-road camera. The windshield has tough Corning Gorilla glass for added protection as you navigate rocky trails.
The Rubicon 4xe uses bright interior accents for a vibrant ambiance in the cabin. The body-colored front and rear bumpers blend the SUV’s appearance, while the 20-inch aluminum wheels with all-season tires provide impressive ground clearance. A Sunrider is available for hardtop configurations, and solid and mesh Sun Bonnet options are available as well. A deep-tint sunscreen with tinted windshield glass offers privacy for occupants. Further, the Global Black and Steel Gray interior colors set this trim apart from the rest.
The High Altitude 4xe uses leather-trimmed bucket seats to reflect its status as the premium trim level. The rear seats have a 60/40 folding configuration that lets you extend the cargo space. A Uconnect 4C NAV with an 8.4-inch display controls the vehicle’s entertainment system.
